Adapting Shivar into an actual character is going to be hard, but I think it will go well.

Yes, my valkyrie's name is Shivar - don't judge me for being unoriginal.

Ditched the black blue skin for a dark tan - because he needs to look slightly more human.

Feathers on his coat are actually the joint part of his wings, think of a vulture - but more human.

Decided that as far as Valkyrie go, he's the "Vulture". Because he looks dead, and crows, ravens and doves are WAY overused.

...But I still have no idea how I should set him up. He's a little too gothic for Steampunk. But not crushingly scary enough for horror.

you could do something along this tag suggestion 'mutant gore house'. experimenting student creates mutants out of his friends and uses them in a disgusting way...
